In this episode, I share with you my take on this great book by Aussie author Laura Bloom. The Women and The Girls will transport you back to the 70’s when Abba hit Sydney and focuses on the changing role of women and their search for independence and a voice.
You’ll fall in love with the characters in this book: hippy mum Libby, corporate powerhouse Anna and timid English rose Carol. This book is about the intensity of family life and mothering, and the power and confidence that results from strong female friendship.
As a mum of 4 who can often feel overwhelmed with the intensity of family life, I loved this book. I also adored its celebration of female friendship and of course, the plethora of well executed 70’s references.
