In this episode of the podcast, Alex speaks with Sydney based ‘Beauty Concierge’ and Make-Up artist Susan Napper about the best way to get our makeup groove back after months at home wearing active wear and no makeup!

Alex and Susan also discuss what impact lockdown may have on makeup trends, their hope for a paired down approach and the emerging trend of matching eyeshadow to face masks! Not joking…

About Susan

Like many ‘grown-up girls’, Susan had a career change in her mid life. In her early forties, she gave up her successful career in arts administration and public sector management to follow her passion for colour and design. She enrolled in a Certificate III course in Make-Up and trained with Makeup Artist of the Year Cheriene Waddell.

As a beauty concierge, Susan audits her customer’s current makeup and then provides objective, tailored recommendations based on her extensive knowledge of available products and brands. She also arms her customers with the skills to apply and use these products so women feel empowered to live their best life. Yes please!!!

Mid-Life Skin

Much like The Grown-Up Girls Report, Susan is all about empowering women to live their best lives, particularly in mid-life. In this episode, she shares her best tips for makeup application for mature skin and including some amazing tips for dealing with crepey skin – inspired by Alex’s crepey eyelids!

Upon Alex’s request, Susan also undertakes an audit of Alex’s make-up and provides some great suggestions for refreshing Alex’s look including using grey or brown eyeliners for day wear.
